The key is "most of the year" or "Mid-May". I think that the point was during the 10-12 weeks in the summer that affect a SA, a vast majority of firms are business casual.PKSebben wrote:You're nuts. If you did poke, it would fall on deaf ears. Only one, maybe two, firms in NYC require business formal, as far as I know.

OP might also be in DC from what he said, where a few firms (including mine) are business formal and where that's even worse than in NY. Not looking forward to that aspect of this summer.

You serious? I thought every firm was business casual now. Mine is at least, thank god.PKSebben wrote:You're nuts. How often do you get yours pressed?PKSebben wrote:You should not be dry cleaning your suits after every wear, mang.pasteurizedmilk wrote:For your sake I hope you're not in NY/DC. Summer in business formal would be hell.
As others said, 3 is probably fine.....but I'd grab two more if I were you. Makes dry-cleaning rotations a lot easier.

I steam and hang after every wear, have them pressed like every couple of weeks, and have them dry cleaned every 6 wears or so. I have a bunch of suits so sometimes I'll let myself go to the "shitty suit" bullpen for a while.Moxie wrote:How often do you get yours pressed?PKSebben wrote:You should not be dry cleaning your suits after every wear, mang.pasteurizedmilk wrote:For your sake I hope you're not in NY/DC. There is no way I could wear a suit six times without cleaning anywhere south of the Canadian border in the summer. You must have your apartment and your office set to about 65F and door to door car service.PKSebben wrote:I steam and hang after every wear, have them pressed like every couple of weeks, and have them dry cleaned every 6 wears or so. Do you dry clean so frequently because you wear the suits so frequently? I dry clean my suits once a year or if they smell or are stained. Dry cleaning ruins suits, though, so I'm very sparing on that front.I steam and hang after every wear, have them pressed like every couple of weeks, and have them dry cleaned every 6 wears or so. +1. Maybe jackets don't need to be cleaned all that often, but wear a pair of pants more than 3-4x in a humid summer and no one will want to go near you.wiseowl wrote:There is no way I could wear a suit six times without cleaning anywhere south of the Canadian border in the summer. This is totally credited, but frankly I'm a goddamn clutz with coffee. Something will get on those suits in six wears -- it's a mortal lock. But until they smell or are stained, you should not dry clean them. For pants, everyone should look into a badass steam presser.Stanislaw Carter wrote:Do you dry clean so frequently because you wear the suits so frequently?
