Anyone have any insight for going away for Memorial day or 4th of July (also falls on a Monday this year) weekends?
Do former SAs recommend being available that weekend to work, or can I safely make travel plans?
Thanks

You should have it off. I was always too scared to make plans ahead, but in retrospect, a call to HR regarding the summer calendar would've been pretty easy.

My firm informed me the office will be closed those two days. You should call HR and find out.

The thing I am worried about is whether or not there will be "holiday" events. For example, should we anticipate like a July 4th BBQ or something similar that we are expected to attend that might prohibit us from making our own separate plans? I don't mind either way, but am just curious.

Again, contact HR (or whoever your hiring contact is). My firm told us that we have July 4th to ourselves, and numerous of my friends who are working at firms have been told the same.IzziesGal wrote:The thing I am worried about is whether or not there will be "holiday" events.
