Good looks = negative stigma for women. Women tend to be jealous of other good looking women, men tend to think the only reason you've accomplished anything was because it was handed to you due to your good looks.

This is not a stupid question. In forums where we nitpick every possible factor that will give people an edge, I think this is very legitimate. I don't think it is a mega-boost, but part of interviewing is projecting confidence and success, and they also look for people they would feel comfortable putting in front of a client. Good looks complement these characteristics. All other things being equal, if the decision is between Pageant Queen Patty and Hunchback Harry, I think we can guess who gets the job.
