What are things like in the SV legal market?
It's been 10-11 years since the dotcom era and more recently there have been a fair numbers of layoffs during the financial crisis. Plus, we've seen two different SF Bay Area based firms failing (Heller, Brobeck) after each crisis. Also, Howrey (~100 attorneys btwn SV and SF) recently dissolved.
What's it like now? What practices are doing well? What practices are struggling? (IP? Corporate? M&A? Venture Capital?)
What firms are doing well? What firms are struggling? (Wilson/Fenwick/Cooley/Latham/Orrick/DPW/Gunderson)
Thanks!
