Clerk with DA for 1L a good idea?

I'm an 0L right now, but I'm pretty sure I have a connection that would allow me to clerk with a county DA's office during my 1L summer. It would be some very hands on experience. It would be in a very small, rural area, however.

Does this sound like a good option? My goal is to work in "big law," so would this qualify as good work experience that I can discuss during OCI/interviews during my second year? Should I shoot for something higher?

It's not an offer, per se, and I realize that I will have to "make it through 1L first."

I'm just wondering if this would be compatible to my goals of working "big law" during 2L summer or after.
