Any Correlation btwn Employment for Paralegals to Lawyers?
I've read a few articles that paint a rosy future for employment prospects for paralegals. The Department of Labor projects 28% growth rate for paralegals between 2008 and 2018. That figure seems odd considering the numerous articles that say the legal community is stagnat or shrinking with regard to hiring new associates. It seems to me that if there is projected growth for paralegal hiring shouldn't there also be projected growth for atty. hiring, considering at most firms there is 1 paralegal for about every 3 attorneys. Any thoughts?

I think paralegals are increasingly being used to supplant attorneys.
