Appropriate way to contact connection at small firm?
My mother has a professional connection to a name partner at a smallish firm. They speak fairly often and are friendly, but it's a business relationship. I'd like to contact this partner to ask her about a possible 1L summer internship, but I'm not sure how to do it the proper way. I've only met her once, and briefly at that. Is there a tactful way to do this?
