I haven't heard anything - I'm a 1L though. Do most firms actually send ding emails or just never get back to you?

Yeah--I was referring to 1Ls.

They definitely inform you of the ding. I'm not sure if it comes via email or letter.

I had a phone interview for a 1L diversity scholarship this past Monday. After the phone interview, the recruiter e-mailed me to say that she would get back to me by Wednesday. It is now Saturday. I assume this means a ding.
