I know it varies. Just wondering if anyone had any personal experiences so I can get some general idea

In my experiences, the rejections came quick and the offers/2nd interviews took time.

There's no clear answer. Each firm/employer is different has different amounts of people applying. The best way to figure it out is to ask other people within the company about how long it took, assuming you know anyone that works there. Even then, it's a toss up. Just stay positive!

What about for a callback? Is the turnaround time generally faster then?

Depends when they need the new hire by - if they need them next week, the callback will come within days, and the rejection will take weeks; if they don't need the hire for a few months, the callback will take weeks, but the rejection will be quicker

I generally ask when they think they will be ready to make a decision. My only rejection came the next day but the two I am waiting on said early to mid April.

Offer: a) the next day after the callback; b) within a week.
Rejections: two-four weeks.

this kinda does make sense - looks like if they need you, at least w/in a week they could let you know. when they say you should hear back from us "w/in the next few weeks", is that a sign for rejection? i would think that is the garden variety response they typically give applicants regardless?

sorry to hear about that, if u don't mind was it via email, snail mail, or call (isn't this way unprofessional lol).

My rejection email came the next day in response to my thank you email. I actually really appreciated it because my friend who also interviewed with them had to wait 2 weeks. Also, I just accepted an offer from a firm and they called me a week after the interview.

If you don't ask after the interview you'll just have to sweat it out. So ask. I guarantee no attorney will hold it against it you - and it's probably a positive sign that you are bold and can show some initiative.

That said, two weeks ago I asked when I would hear back at a Friday afternoon interview, they said "by the end of next week." I got an offer on Monday...before any of my classmates heard back.
