SEC Summer Program
I had a phone interview for the SEC Summer Honors Program last Monday. It did not go great but they told me they would let me know in 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else heard back? I really really want to work there over the summer.

I had the exact experience on that same day and have not heard back either. Fingers crossed.

Re: SEC Summer Program
Does anyone know anything about the 1L program? I just got an email from my career center saying the 1L Application closes on 1/31, but it doesn't even seem to be up yet.

It's not up yet.. It was supposed to be up 1/1 but I guess they are busy or still figuring stuff out. I'd guess it's going to be up within the next week or sosmashedpumpkins wrote:Does anyone know anything about the 1L program? Bump
Any news? I was really hoping to apply and be evaluated before my 1L grades were released, but that's looking increasingly unlikely...

I have two friends who received offers back in November. Both will be in Chicago and both have a background in public accounting.

FYI (particularly directed to other 1Ls wondering why the application isn't available yet):

I was told that the 1L app would be up sometime this weekend, and that 1L positions would be unpaid this year.

I wonder what effect that will have on the competitiveness of these positions... I suppose the candidates who typically score an Honors internship have had work experience so the fact that loans don't cover living expenses outside of the school year isn't as big a deal for them.smashedpumpkins wrote:I was told that the 1L app would be up sometime this weekend, and that 1L positions would be unpaid this year.

For those of you who had phone interview with SEC, does SEC give you the # to call once you have set up a time for an interview?? or does the interviewer call you?

For those that sent in applications for the 1L program, did you get any sort of confirmation that your app was received. I just got forwarded to some page that said that my app was 'open'.

No. And I'm not even 100% sure it attaches my correct cover letter. The first page cover letter is a common one to all applications which is stupid. Then there is the second page cover letter which is the one unique to each application. Do they expect us to make a general cover letter as well?Anonymous User wrote:For those that sent in applications for the 1L program, did you get any sort of confirmation that your app was received. Had the same issue as well. I just attached two of the same letter for each position. It required logging out and then updating the files on the first page four times; in general, the process is severely confusing and inefficient.
