Litigation Associate Salary in Boutique Firm
For a very small boutique law firm (15 attorneys) in a major metropolitan city, roughly how much do they earn per year? Suppose the firm had IP and corporate divisions, would the salary differ depending on which division you join?
Thanks!
Thanks!

There is absolutely no way we can answer that with the utter lack of information you provided. Location, for one, would help, although I'm not sure why you're asking a random forum of 0L's and 1L's when you could just ask someone actually in "a very small boutique law firm (15 attorneys) in a major metropolitan city."
It varies far too much from city to city and from firm to firm.

If you get an offer, please post the name of the firm, salary, and the middle initial of the hiring partner so that we can all be more informed.

I've seen firms all over the range:
I've seen ads from firms looking for associates to start working for free, I have a friend who told me that his summer firm offered him ~30 to stay on, the firm I summered at would pay about 65 if I stayed there, some boutiques pay closer to market, and there are some elite boutiques that rarely hire out of law school and start at big firm salary or higher plus bonus.

Define "secondary market" and give me your idea of what a "boutique" is.Anonymous User wrote:Interested in this as well going into mass mailing season. Average starting salary for boutique associate in a secondary market?

This is going to sound arbitrary, but what floor is this boutique on? If you say ground floor, I'm going to say associates start under $100k.
