FBI, CIA etal summer internships?
Anyone apply to the FBI, CIA, DOD, DHS, or Dept of AF summer programs and hear back either way yet?

How are future JD's not getting hired by the FBI/CIA etc, i have a friend at a state school 30 mins away with a FBI job lined up. Is it just that they apply for very different kinds of work?
I was under the impression that these could be considered "backups" for those not getting biglaw?

FBI and CIA general counsel offices are prestigious. Its one thing to have an 'FBI job' its a completely different thing to get general counsel's office.jt1341 wrote:How are future JD's not getting hired by the FBI/CIA etc, i have a friend at a state school 30 mins away with a FBI job lined up. AF's deadline was yesterday, and DoD's application period is still open. I don't know if they do rolling reviews.

Is your friend going to be an FBI agent, or an attorney for the FBI?AssumptionRequired wrote:How are future JD's not getting hired by the FBI/CIA etc, i have a friend at a state school 30 mins away with a FBI job lined up. Is it just that they apply for very different kinds of work?

FBI has already interviewed. If you haven't heard, you aren't hearing.

I applied for FBI, which was rather stupid because I have a disqualifier (I heard they can bypass that, but I imagine that is only going to happen if they really want you for some particular reason in the first place or you have a special connection). I only applied for the paid position. One of my law school friends applied for one of the unpaid FBI internships and got in interview a few weeks ago. I still haven't heard from him about whether he got an offer from them and if so if he is taking it.

Allegedly offers are going out around Dec. 31 (conditional on security clearance). I'm undecided as to whether I would take it or not - I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
