What does it take to get the Skadden 1L internship in NYC - especially from a tier 2 school (rank 67)? Top grades? Family?
or is it just impossible from a tier 2?

Not completely true. While it is ridiculously hard to get a 1L position at any big-firm, a very small number of people at BU get one each year. I know 2 years ago a BU 1L actually worked at Skadden.
