T14 top 49%-26%: 1+ *OFFER* from OCI? (poll by market)
This poll is similar to the "at least one callback" one, but modified to target offers instead.
This is directed at those at a "T14" school, in the top half but not in the top quarter.
It is broken down by the market or markets which you primarily targeted at OCI. ("Primarily" means at least one-third of your initial OCI interviews were in that market; the one-third is an absolute bright-line minimum, but up to three answers can be registered, for people who really did have 9 interviews split evenly among three markets.) Some people may well have received an offer somewhere without targeting that area in OCI; indeed, many of us are aiming to do just that. However, since a response of "0 offers in LA but I never applied there" would be misleading, and mass-mailing campaigns are likely hard to compare with OCI targeting, please mark no-offer situations based upon where you first looked.
As a nod to Hope Indomitable, answers are left changeable.

Re: T14 top 49%-26%: At Least 1 *OFFER*? (poll by market)
Now this is a useful poll.

Wow. Maybe I'm not so weird for not having any offers right now after all.
We don't really have enough responses yet to justify drawing any firm conclusions from this, but I do wonder if the NY numbers will stay the same. Perhaps I should not feel so bad for targeting non-NY markets.
(I'm the OP. I got zero OCI callbacks and have been really pissed off about it for quite a while. I've had some leads from MM...but no offers yet.)

Any reason why Boston didn't make the poll list? I'd be curious to see some of that data.

I had tried to fit it on, but the polls are limited to 10 responses.diehard617 wrote:Any reason why Boston didn't make the poll list? I'd be curious to see some of that data.
What would you suggest for a second poll? Boston, maybe Texas? Philadelphia? Perhaps an "other" category?

I would be curious as well. Anybody want to post any anecdotal information on Boston?diehard617 wrote:Any reason why Boston didn't make the poll list? I'd be curious to see some of that data.

New poll posted for Boston, Texas, and whatever other markets I could think of that weren't included here.KMaine wrote:I would be curious as well. Maybe I'm not some sort of mutant freak for failing to get any offers out of the Bay Area from my non-CA T14. But looking at the other poll, it seems like I'm the only one out of 10 or so who didn't even get any callbacks. I wish I knew what was going on.
Based on this data, though, over 40% of people at a T14 in that above-median-but-not-top-25% group are still empty-handed.

To be fair, it's over 40% of a self-selected group of nerds who spend too much time on the internet.Anonymous User wrote: Based on this data, though, over 40% of people at a T14 in that above-median-but-not-top-25% group are still empty-handed.

I wasn't aiming that at anyone. I'm just pointing out that it's pretty silly to make such conclusions based on this forum.Anonymous User wrote:My depression is now DIAMONDS!Renzo wrote:To be fair, it's over 40% of a self-selected group of nerds who spend too much time on the internet.Anonymous User wrote: Based on this data, though, over 40% of people at a T14 in that above-median-but-not-top-25% group are still empty-handed.
There are some people (who are in all likelihood very pleasant) in the 2nd quartile of the class who struck out. I do feel for those people, but lets not pretend we can estimate their number this way.

I am bumping this to see if people have updates. Given that the content of this discussion is pretty much laid out there in the poll, I think it does tend to fall down in the pages.
Insert inflammatory remark about school prestige to incite argument here?
That said, it seems like OCI-based results are wrapping up. All of my OCI leads are dead; it's been entirely mass-mailing stuff for a while now.
