How prestigious is the DC court of appeals?
Where would this court fall in terms of relative prestige to other clerkships (e.g. where would it rank compared to a federal district court in the middle of nowhere, etc.)?
What would exit options be like ITE? (I assume biglaw is most likely out of the question after this, but what about midsize/smaller firms in and out of DC?).

this can't be for real. DC CoA is way up there; 2d/7th/9th
and compared to a district cout in the middle of nowhere?? not even in the same ballpark.
Exit options - biglaw is definitely on the table.

lol, I didn't realize this at first. I was thinking this would win the "stupidest thread on TLS" award.jrs12 wrote:Dude, he's not talking about the DC Circuit.

I originally was going to put "(not circuit ct)" in the thread title, but it wouldn't fit and I figured most people on here are smart enough to recognize that I wasn't talking about the DC circuit (particularly considering I was comparing it to a federal district court in the middle of nowhere).Cavalier wrote:lol, I didn't realize this at first. Anyone got an idea re: my original question? ... Just intuiting this, I feel like this should be a relatively prestigious clerkship considering it is the highest court in the District of Columbia, and it gets to answer questions of law certified by federal courts, including SCOTUS. I'm pretty ecstatic about interviewing there, obviously, and intend to take it regardless (if I get an offer), but it would be interesting to get a gauge of how far this might take me in terms of job prospects after I'm done.

Quick question for the OP, could you by any chance tell us your stats for those of us that would like to (in the future) apply to the DC CoA? Thanks!
