Poll: Brown Rudnick, Cooley Godward, Kasowitz (all NY)

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Sep 27, 2010 8:39 pm

I'm most interested in work/life balance and how well I will be treated/trained. Cooley and Kasowitz are for litigation; at BR, I'd have more flexibility in picking a practice area (I'm not sure what department I'd want to go into). Thanks!

If you don't know what you want to do, eliminate Kasowitz.

Although I don't have enough information to offer an opinion on your decision, I was wondering when you received the BR offer (and how long after CB)?

OP here.

Approximately 2 weeks between CB and offer. Got the offer within the past week.

Anyone have any comments on quality of life/work at Kasowitz? I've done litigation before as a paralegal, and I liked it. Pretty sure that I wouldn't be miserable just because I was pigeonholed as a litigator, but do I owe it to myself to keep my practice area options open by going to a more general firm like Brown Rudnick?

for the sake of anyone on hold at these firms, please stop polling people who don't know any better than you and accept an offer.

Had a friend who summered at Kasowitz recently and she loved it. She only had really good things to say about the work and people there, but she knew she wanted to be in lit.
