2010 OCI was better than last year?
it seems like 2010 was a lot better than last year.
what are your thoughts?
looks like ppl below median got offers as well (t14). am i right?
i'm 2011 with nothing. i'm somewhat jealous of 2012.
no one got any offer if you weren't above 3.6 last year, and now i see majority of people are getting way more call backs and offers.
arghh.... what are my options?

Are you basing this off TLS? Because I guarantee you that this is a very skewed population.Anonymous User wrote:it seems like 2010 was a lot better than last year.

TLS can't be 100% right, but still ..that's how i feel after reading some topics.Kohinoor wrote:Are you basing this off TLS? Because I guarantee you that this is a very skewed population.Anonymous User wrote:it seems like 2010 was a lot better than last year.

Really? That's about top 15% at my school. I think we need to be careful before we pronounce this year's recruiting season better than last. All we have is some self-reported anecdotal evidence.

Re: 2010 OCI was better than last year?
It was certainly "better" than last year. The fact that many of the top NYC firms increased class sizes undoubtedly helped more students get SA positions. However, it's way too early to tell just how much better it was. A lot of markets, like DC, were still very tough to break into. A lot of people, even some with great grades, are still struggling and may end up with nothing. The market still sucks, in other words.
I think one thing that really helped many people is being able to observe the results of 2009 OCI and making better decisions as a result. I'm sure that fewer people at UVA than last year bid mostly on DC, and many more probably mailed firms over the summer instead of relying exclusively on OCI.

My impression was that OCI was somewhat better. However plenty of top half people struck out amd getting an offer below median was the exception not the rule.

Too early to tell (still). At least in my case.

Well...A decent amount of southern firms cancelled their 2011 summer programs which had summer programs last year.

Boston SA class sizes seem VERY small.

DC classes seem insanely small, has it always been such a tough market to break into or was it different before ITE?
