3L screening interview

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Sep 21, 2010 9:17 pm

I just got a call from a V20 to come in for a screening intervew. Does that mean I don't have to worry about grades?

More information is needed to answer this precisely. Grades always matter, whether for a callback or a screener--at the callback stage it just means your grades do not disqualify you and they like at least something about you. Generally a screening interview is the stage where they look at your grades, etc. However, it sounds like you must have applied by mail, and so they have your grades. In which case, grades are relevant in the same was as for a callback I would guess.

They were recruiting 3Ls at my school. I didn't get an interview and knew somebody there. They forwarded grades, resume, etc to the recruiting department. They also wanted to know the practice group that I was applying for.

My guess is that you are not excluded based on grades, but grades will still be one of many factors they consider. All you can do now is kill it in the interview.
