After CB Status Update with Offer Deadline Approaching
If an offer getting close to the 28-day mark (say one week to go), is it ok to call firms that you had callbacks at the previous week to let them know of the deadline and to ask when a decision is going to be made?

It is stupid not to. They may or may not be able to change their time frame for you, but they certainly understand your position.
