I received a call, followed by an emailed PDF of the offer letter that is supposed to come in the mail later.

You mean other than the huge starting salary, a starting date in September, the graduation bonus, the bar review costs, the generous moving allowance, the entertainment and parking allowances?

It was a nice surprise. It was in the letter along with all the other details. The best thing, well except the salary, was the starting date. I know everything can change but the offer, verbal assurances and the actual starting date in print made me a very happy camper! One of my best days ever!!!!

seems like people are conflating offer following OCI with offer following 2L SA.

Fancy-pants cookie poster here. Sorry if I am confused or was confusing, I meant offer FOR the summer, not after the summer for full time.

It is a graduation/signing bonus, not an advance. I am pretty sure that everyone at my firm received these benefits - I don't think I was that "special". This was in addition to the bar review and moving expenses.

Thanks, the money is appreciated and lightens the financial burden of law school. I do feel like I won the lottery. Just hope it pans out and there are no deferrals, etc.

Boutique I accepted at pays an offer acceptance bonus along with some form of compensation upon graduation. Will make studying for the bar much easier.

I look at the cost of law school in total, including living expenses while studying for the bar.NYAssociate wrote:How can the bonus help with law school finances when you need the money to live off of while studying for the bar???
