Deloitte, Orrick alums applying for $15/hr PT work
totally not outing myself here, but my small summer firm in SoCal is interviewing several T14, top 10% grads tomorrow for a $15/hour part time clerk job. most of them were shitcanned by biglaw in 2008-2009.
we all know it is bad, but it's crazy to actually see NYU, etc. grads blanketing all the shitlaw firms in a huge legal market with no success.

Yea, I would imagine Deloitte alums would have a really hard time getting legal work especially given that Deloitte isn't a law firm. In other news, I have a friend with an MBA who got totally shut out of biglaw. Its rough out there guys!

Hah, yea. Sorry. These threads are just redundant - hence the stickied economy thread.bwv812 wrote:Way to be a dick!Blindmelon wrote:Yea, I would imagine Deloitte alums would have a really hard time getting legal work especially given that Deloitte isn't a law firm. Any response to the Orrick situation? Also, Deloitte seems to do OCI at some law schools, so there's that.

op said PART TIME CLERK JOBS in small firms.
HINT HINT: it does not require a legal degree.
It is really that bad. Just the other day I saw 10 guys from the Coutrywide Trading desk in socal that got shitcanned come out for commission only broker jobs that charged a FEE to get the job. guess what? they all paid the $1500. un-freakin-believable.

OP here...I encouraged my boss to take someone FT at $20/hr. Hopefully he will take my advice. Seems like a rotten deal to most of us but it might be a blessing for someone desperate.
