Picking a Practice Area (the DOJ and Exit Options)
I am applying for the DOJ and need to pick a practice area. I would love to work in the Civil Rights Division, but I also want to leave open exit options for big law. Should I choose the Commercial Litigation Branch instead? Big law doesn't do the type of work that the Civil Rights Division does; does this matter?
