Re: should I bid SULLIVAN & CROMWELL?
You're a 3L on LR without a job?
I don't think you have the numbers, personally, unless your school has some significant grade deflation.

Re: should I bid SULLIVAN & CROMWELL?
In 2006, 88 3Ls from Columbia bid on Sullivan & Cromwell during 3L OCI. At the end of the day, 4 were given offers.
My guess is your credentials at a lower T14 make it more or less impossible. Still, is there a compelling reason not to bid on them? Other firms that would be a better pick?

Re: should I bid SULLIVAN & CROMWELL?
cool, so anyone that goes to American or a better school can work at S&C? Do you just have to fill-out a questionaire or something and tell them you're interested and they hire you? Wow, that's really cool. I thought you had to go to a good school and get good grades. This really made my day.Danteshek wrote:My college roommate is at S&C. He went to American.

Holy fuck you're obnoxious. Mr. Bernstein's story doesn't mean it's fucking likely.Danteshek wrote:My college roommate is at S&C. He went to American.
OH MY GOD, HOW DID I FIND HIS NAME? Turns out there is only one male lawyer at Sullivan and Cromwell who went to American for law school. Sounds like great odds to me!!!!
Edit: Actually, none of the people who are at S&C that went to American College of law went to your undergrad (which you handily link in your profile!) so hell if know what's going on. The point stands.

A 3.51 is definitely better than top quarter at several T14s, even after 1L year. I'm not sure what you're talking about.bwv812 wrote:I doubt that GPA is better than top 25% at any T14.
Sure, at Northwestern it's not - but some T14s either curve to under a 3.3 or don't have any inflated grades during 2L and 3L year so ranks don't increase measurably.

Re: should I bid SULLIVAN & CROMWELL?
3.51 is barely top 1/3 at graduation under the new curve at GULC. I understand most graded T14's have curves that are around GULC's new one. Not worth bidding on Sullcrom.

He was a litigation associate as of December 2009. He must have left or been fired.

3.51 is probably close to top 25% at NYU even with new grade inflation, but only after 1L.disco_barred wrote:A 3.51 is definitely better than top quarter at several T14s, even after 1L year. I'm not sure what you're talking about.bwv812 wrote:I doubt that GPA is better than top 25% at any T14.
