You're on the razor's edge, but it's certainly worth a shot.
I can all but guarantee you that some people with your stats will get big firm gigs through OCI, but my guess is that the majority will not.

Depending on how good the w/e is, he has a decent shot if UCLA/Tex recruiting is similar to that of the lower T14.disco_barred wrote:You're on the razor's edge, but it's certainly worth a shot.

Seems about right. Median at those schools was never a good place to be for big law even in the boomiest times, and this is ITE. That being said, OP seems to have everything else going for him/her, so there's a real chance something will stick.Kohinoor wrote:Depending on how good the w/e is, he has a decent shot if UCLA/Tex recruiting is similar to that of the lower T14.disco_barred wrote:You're on the razor's edge, but it's certainly worth a shot.

Tex??? Most UT students would never call it "Tex." But maybe that's why you called it "Tex."Anonymous User wrote:Is OCI even worth doing?

By the way, I participated in your poll. I voted YES.

Thanks. I won't say which school, but I prefer the beach to the rodeo.

+1; i thought the URM AA status would carry the day, no?disco_barred wrote:Seems about right. 50/50
Not sure how much of a boost firms are giving to URMs ITE though. I think firms are just becoming a lot more GPA-focused because each associate has to produce more work in the same, or less, amount of time, given that they have reduced class sizes significantly.

Unless you've already bid and are just wondering about how well you'll do, you are NOT at UTAnonymous User wrote:Thanks. I won't say which school, but I prefer the beach to the rodeo.

Take a look at the BIGLAW attorney rosters. Most firms don't seem to give an ish about employing URM's.oscarthegrouch wrote:50/50

I don't have a hard time believing you. I mean since when in the world has being a minority helped with employment (especially in the corporate world)? That's so counter-intuitive it's not even funny (not to mention it goes directly against almost every employment study relating to minorities ever done). I think the admissions setup elicits so much emotion that people forget that that is a very unique situation.Everyone thinks AA does way more than it does.

Do you seriously think that there is no AA in hiring? Of course there is. At least during large scale recruiting by big firms.
