Reading the NALP form

Post by heraclitus » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:33 pm

Hi guys, I have a quick question about the NALP form.
In the Compensation and Employment data box:
1. What do the bracketed numbers represent?
2. If the 2L "expected 2010" box is 10, does it mean there were only 10 positions this summer or do they expect to employ 10 in 2011?
Greatly appreciate your answers!
Thanks

The 2L expected form means "how many people are spending their 2010 summer at our firm's office." The reason it says "expected" is because firms fill out the form before the summers start, often long before the summers start, and plans change. Anyway, it's the members of the class of 2011, who did OCI in 2009, that a firm is taking on. The dates are definitely hard to keep track of the way big law hiring cascades.

Thanks a lot!
