Bidding the same firm
So I bid the same firm for two different interview programs and I got selected for an interview at both places...recommended course of action?

decline the later interview, with the possible exception of a specialty fair. So if your interview for MegaFirm's IP department at Loyala but also get an interview at your school's OCI for their office in general, I don't think it would be a waste to do both.

Then a third grader could tell you interviewing twice would be stupid and you should cancel whichever interview is less convenient for you?Anonymous User wrote:and if its an ip boutique?

Re: Bidding the same firm
Is it necessary to disclose that you interviewed with the firm in a different market? I will bid a few firms from one market at OCI, but I plan on soliciting interviews from the same firms, but different market, at a regional career fair.
If I don't disclose will it look bad if they find out? If I disclose I feel like I am shooting myself in the foot because I have less ties to the secondary market where the career fair is held, making me look like an even bigger flight risk. Thoughts?

Re: Bidding the same firm
I ran into the same issue (for a patent boutique and also for a general practice firm). I contacted both firms with the issue (i just emailed the recruiting contact listed on NALP). The patent boutique told me to cancel one of the interviews while the general practice firm said it was fine to keep both (one interview is at loyola and another at a non-ip specific job fair). I guess my advice would be to contact the firm and see what they say.
In general though if the interviews are for different offices of a biglaw firm I think you should be fine since many allow multiple interviews at OCI anyway.
