How competitive coming from Northwestern? What grades needed?

Are you at NU now? The OCI doc the CSO put on Symplicity can give you an idea of callback GPAs over the last few years which is a good starting point.
They are well regarded in Chicago (#7 Chicago regional ranking) and haven't been too brutal in the layoffs, so they are likely going to be pretty popular in the OCI bids is my guess

Competitive, even for people with good grades who started out here.

there are a ton of alums at northwestern, i'm sure they take a ton of NU students. that said, it's still a very competitive firm. it's one of the top 3 or 4 firms for litigation in town.

Fun fact: I think more than half of the Jenner DC associates (and it's a small but not a tiny office) went to Havard or Yale. Jenner DC is by an order of magnitude the most school snobby firm I have ever heard of.

It's tangential, but it's a fun fact. A fun fact which I have now shared.

Um, its probably more an issue of Jenner DC being a top flight appellate shop rather than being 'school snobby'

Woah, Jenner DC is a top flight appellate law firm? WHY WAS I NOT TOLD?

(Also, Chambers & Partners finds Jenner notable but not top flight: http://www.chambersandpartners.com/USA/Editorial/33057)
