CCBA minority job fair
Is anyone around here participating in this? I just looked at my interview schedule and saw I only have 8 interviews, out of 25 bids. I say only because I think that's low...is it? Does anybody know how successful candidates are/have been at getting jobs from this fair in the past? Should I bid on the same firms for OCI even though I already have interviews with them at the fair? Sorry I have so many questions...hopefully someone has some answers!

I was curious about this too. I got 7 interviews. I heard of another student from my school getting only one.
FWIW, I'll be bidding on several firms at OCI who I bid on at the job fair. I got only one interview from a firm that visits my campus.

3.38 @ Michigan, which i think is somewhere b/t top 30 or 40 percent...not 100% sure since Michigan doesn't rank. not the best grades, so it sounds like i should definitely be happy with 8.Kohinoor wrote: How were your grades?
but are you rebidding on firms where you've already gotten interviews at ccba? or are you only rebidding firms that you bid on at ccba but you didn't get interviews with and so you're going to try again at oci? i'm just trying to figure out whether an interview at ccba means it wouldn't make sense to waste a bid on the same firm for oci when I know I'll have already interviewed with them two weeks earlier.purpl333 wrote:I meant I'll be rebidding on the firms that come to my OCI.
I heard that students last year typically only got 1-4 interviews, even those from T14 with good grades.
and wow, last yr only 1-4? ouch!

Re: CCBA minority job fair
Just talked to an upper classman who attended last year...
8 interviews
3 call backs
0 offers
Hopefully that was a sign of the poor economy and not typical of the job fair's placement.

Re: CCBA minority job fair
mine too. not sure if this is because 8 is the max number of interviews as one poster suggested above
still haven't heard from anyone with more than 8, though.

Are ppl sending thank you notes to these interviewers? trying to gauge the importance/effectiveness of doing so given there were so many interviews and they may receive tons of them.

Most said they would try to get back ASAP. I'm hoping by later today or Tuesday

Re: CCBA minority job fair
Most of my interviewers told me that I should not expect to hear from them until all of their OCIs are done. But I am mostly interviewing with IP boutique firms, which might account for the different timeline. I havent met any interviewer who told me that I could hear back from them soon, so I will just assume all dings for now.

Just got e-mail dinged from Katten. Haven't heard from any of my other interviews, which I'm pretty sure = rejection at this point.
