Who can explain this math to me:
The Bronx district attorney's office may have to lay off up to 45 assistant prosecutors by the end of the month because of planned city budget cuts, the Daily News has learned. . . .
Under Mayor Bloomberg's budget proposal, Johnson's office would lose 36 "executive management" positions, but gain another five stimulus-funded positions.
The net loss of 31 positions will help save more than $3,171,000 on personnel. The office will also lose nearly $600,000 for nonpersonnel costs.
