Academics vs. Experience

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jun 22, 2010 12:15 pm

Are there any firms that are known for giving great weight to one's work experience (particularly legal-related) over their academic performance in law school?

Any advice for pushing yourself at OCI if you have great legal experience but 1L grades aren't fantastic?

"not fantastic" as in a little over a 3.3 GPA. Not sure how this will place in class rank, as they have not come out yet. Not at a top school, but a decent one with a huge alumni base.

What do you mean by "great" legal experience? Does it stand out somehow from everyone else's 1L summer?
