There are quite a few firms like that in DC- most won't be on NALP.

Expect 60-90k starting.

Altshuler Berzon is an extremely selective, extremely prestigious boutique litigation firm in San Francisco. Steve Berzon is married to 9th Cir. judge Marsha Berzon, and the firm does progressive, union-side labor law and civil rights litigation. Several of their cases have gone to the Supreme Court, and the lawyers in their firm are pretty much all former federal appellate clerks (including SCOTUS) who went to HYS, Berkeley, etc. They have an extremely small, extremely selective class of summer associates (all 2Ls). I don't know what they pay their SAs, but I can guarantee you that they start their new hires at substantially more than $60,000.
