Geez why are you making it sound like "barely clearing" the top 10 percent of a top 14 is a treacherous place to be? Has this site gotten so elitist that even someone in the top 10 percent of a top 14 feels inadequate??

I thought the same things, haha. I'm a rising 1L. These past few weeks have forced me to question everything related to law school. "Do I really want to do this to myself?" has gone through my head a few times.Hiei wrote:Geez why are you making it sound like "barely clearing" the top 10 percent of a top 14 is a treacherous place to be? First if all, do I know you? Second, I think that the other poster is right saying you have a shot at all but the most selective. I am not sure how there is a way to exchange prestige for quality of life. As I understand, the QOL for all top firms kind of sucks, but I think that is something that some detailed research could reveal. Maybe some other people here have some suggestions. And yes, you did great. I think with any luck in interviewing, you should have some great options.

Wait, top 10% of T14 is a good place to be?Hiei wrote:Geez why are you making it sound like "barely clearing" the top 10 percent of a top 14 is a treacherous place to be? Has this site gotten so elitist that even someone in the top 10 percent of a top 14 feels inadequate??![]()

TTT Grad had me convinced that everyone outside of HYS (and those below median at HLS) were going to be doing temporary doc review for 15 bucks an hour upon graduation.

Re: Lower end T-14, barely cleared top 10%
I don't want to hijack the thread, but does anyone have any advice for someone who is in about the same spot as OP (top 10% at lower T14) and looking at Texas markets?
I'd prefer a firm that is fairly competitive and not heavily leveraged (closer to 1:1 to 1:2 ratio of partners:associates). Haven't decided on lit/transactional yet, but leaning toward transactional.
