Details would help. Is there a civil action against you? Did you get an extortion, ahem, settlement letter? Are you being sanctioned by your undergrad school?
Biggest thing is not concealing anything you should have revealed. Review your law school's policy and determine if it applies to your situation. Some schools probably wouldn't mind. Harvard, for instance, is very much in the file-sharer's camp on this one.

Read your application carefully to see if this requires disclosure. I'm 99% sure that you'll have to reveal this to the school. It's always in your best interest to disclose. The consequences of not doing so far, far outweigh any fleeting benefit of preserving your image.

I agree that we need more information about the charge to help you out, but I think that disclosing is probably going to be the answer.

Disclose. Quickly and fully. I see no problem with anything but a cover up.
This is (probably) way less significant than a DUI or drug charge (unless you are accused of being a file sharing kingpin). I can't imagine that they'd take away your admission.
More details, please.

I experimented with this one for a little bit: --LinkRemoved--
I'm sure there are more practical programs out there though. I'll defer to paratactical.

There are a few different programs. I don't remember exactly which one I used, but it's still pretty time consuming. They're all here ( http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... lit=+magic ) if you ever want to use them, just pull the URLs.

Do you mean charged or sued? As in did the USAO actually charge you with criminal copyright infringement? That's a federal felony, which is going to have MAJOR implications on your life and your bar admission. Legal term for this is Very. Big. Deal.
Obviously a new criminal charge of any nature has to be disclosed immediately.

I didn't think they were still pursuing these types of claims. I'm interested in these details.

This. Since OP said "charged" I'm assuming criminal charges, but it could be a civil lawsuit. It does matter which, OP.ScaredWorkedBored wrote:Do you mean charged or sued? That's what's weird. Criminal charges normally only come down for people who do stuff like steal workprints from studios and put them online. Your standard torrents will *only* get you sued.vanwinkle wrote:This. Since OP said "charged" I'm assuming criminal charges, but it could be a civil lawsuit. Seriously? What are you waiting for?
