I'm a 1L at a T20, but I'm currently taking a year off after my first semester to deal with some family issues. My grades are somewhat decent (top third), and I have a valid excuse relating to a recent death in my immediate family. I imagine it comes down to how well you can articulate the rationale in interviews, but I'm still curious if anyone can tell me how it might affect job prospects and how it affected your own OCI or job search if you were in a similar situation.
Thanks!
