No joke.

Shit. Shit. Shit. I really really need to be where I was 3 weeks ago (when I came thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to selling off in preps for school. "Eh," I thought. "You don't need to sell off for good until July. And even then maybe just a little to cover the move.")

Terrible.

I sold when it was 12k, bought back at 9k, put some more back in recently which will take a hit today, but I'm not complaining.

Will also be selling in July to pay for school

That quick dip was just nuts. Apple was trading above $250 all day, drops to $210 then immediately jumps to $230. It still sucks, but I'm glad we got that bounce. I was freaking out with the Dow dropping nearly 9%.

"According to multiple sources, a trader entered a "b" for billion instead of an "m" for million in a trade possibly involving Procter & Gamble [PG 60.75 -1.41 (-2.27%) ], a component in the Dow. (CNBC's Jim Cramer noted suspicious price movement in P&G stock on air during the height of the market selloff."

Fellow AAPL holder, here. I nearly poopedself when I saw that drop. I really, really, really need it to go back to $270ish (and beyond, if possible). I just made a big purchase on VISA and was going to finally sell some for that. Now, I'm screwed.

Jobs numbers haven't really been "good" news in awhile.

Yea this is why you don't invest money you need in the short term. It's nothing more than gambling at that point.

The phrase good news everyone hasn't really been use to mean "good" in awhile.

This is true. But I bought two years ago (alas, not 1 year ago), planning to go long and haven't sold yet. (But when it's time to buy the engagement ring ... it's time to buy the ring.)

Still ... it's pretty much gambling.

job numbers aren't going to mean a whole lot since they purportedly include up to 600,000 temporary Census workers

Lucky for us though, they also include distinctions between gov't and private employers...
