in all seriousness though, i would imagine around 2 yrs.

The thing is, (im very familiar w/ the IP legal market,) firms and corps. dont want to pay out that 6 fig salary for some of their work that could be done by patent agents or paralegals. i talked to a few attorneys and they have kinda given the "general" impression that 2 patent agents paying @ like 80k each, is >>>> 1 attorney who they pay at 180k . more work w/ less pay = win for firm/corp.

lol. No wonder some people cant stand lawyers, talk about making this more complicated than necessary. As we have seen, although the markets are recovering faster than was predicted, the job market is not. The answer would be based on how soon employers in legal firms begin to gain more business, and also how much their confidence level increases. Really, the economy is fundamentally driven by confidence, so who knows what the answer is. This same problem is not specific to law anyways. Every industry is hurting, and its tough to find an occupation which is recession proof.
