University of North Dakota distance BSEE for Patent Law

Post by Anonymous User » Sun Apr 18, 2010 11:21 pm

The UND distance BSEE is ABET accreditted. You complete a majority of the courses via distance learning with proctored exams but complete labs on campus in the summer. I'm starting law school this August and would like to focus on patent law but don't have enough science credits to take the Patent Bar. I had over two years of in-class technical training in the Navy (AECF) so I feel that'll make up for the shorter labs but will the USPTO allow UND's distance BSEE for the patent bar?

Call UND and ask. Although if you're trying to take classes and law school together while foregoing summer internships to complete labs...........

Thanks, I agree about taking on too much work. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

I have 4 chemistry, 8 physics, 4 Bio, and 16 engineering credits already... I just need eight more in 3 years. Law school will be my number one focus (I'm not planning on taking any course other than law school my first year) and I plan on doing a summer intern my 1L summer. I'll just need 8 credits to qualify for the patent bar, so I'm thinking if I take courses that don't require a lab over my 3L year that'll give me enough credits for the patent bar then I can continue working on the BSEE afterwards. But if the USPTO won't accept those 8 credits it would've been a waste of time.
