Include scholarship name and amount on legal resume? Forum

Is it obnoxious to include scholarship name as well as the amount per year on your resume? Better to just include name of the award (even if it might not be well known?).

This an acceptable example?:

Peoples College of Law
Juris Doctorate Candidate for 2013
$10,000 per year as a recipient for The Super-Awesomeness Scholarship in Law

I put the name and 'partial tuition scholarship based on merit' which it what the school told me to do;. Don't put the number...i'd say 'half' or 'full' or 'partial'.

If it's a named scholarship, that's considered a meritorious award like dean's list or other UG things you might have gotten, and you can list it under awards or achievements (or just in the education section as you indicate).

Yeah, if I do list anything I'll prob just stick to the name and that's it under education. Figured it was another thing to add to a slim resume, but now I'm a little paranoid that doing so might lump me into the "I include my LSAT score on my resume" group.

You aren't supposed to do that? Whoops. I put it under my Skills and hobbies section under Watching Boston Legal and The Deep End.

Our Career Services office instructs us to do it the way Sophie316 describes & list it under Honors
