What to do in the summer before I start law school?
Because I'm going to be entering law school straight out of undergrad, I'm getting concerned my lack of work experience will make my resume weak going into recruiting for summer positions after my first year. What kinds of programs can I find that would bolster my resume for summer positions but wouldn't require any previous legal experience? I've looked through my undergrad institution's career services and they don't have any relevant opportunities for graduating seniors. Would I be better off just traveling and enjoying summer or would working at a law firm or for a non-profit really help my future career prospects?

you should probably just relax. if you do any kind of work though, a small law firm probably would be best. I got shot down from at least one summer job so far (as a 1L) due to having no law firm experience. I don't think this is very common though...most of my classmates also have no legal experience.

I'm working until June, then going to Cancun and Russia. Then, I'm going to move to some/other city and spend a few months learning the city, working out and relaxing.

+ 1. I think it's going to happen. I don't want them to force me to quit.

I think you should drink Oban single malt scotch.

I've applied for some jobs in law school that asked if my employment was terminated for any reason by the employer and why.Oban wrote:Desert Fox wrote:I was trying to get laid off but failed.
