2L SA Start Dates, Program Lengths, and Pay Scales
So 2Ls, to the best of my knowledge, most of the firm SA offers firms were giving out last fall did not come with start dates, program lengths (some gave a minimum number of weeks), and only promised "market rate" pay. Most firms promised to give out this info in January.
I'm still waiting to hear from my firm. Have people started to hear yet? I'm started to get antsy to hear when I'll be working and what I'll get paid.
Do you think Above the Law will follow this info as it's released? It seems that the amount a firm is willing to invest into their summer class will be some indication of their financial health ITE.

The firm I'm summering at told us in the middle of January, and gave our start dates & pay.

+1. I'm a 1L but the firm pays 1Ls and 2Ls the same. The pay terms were in the offer letter.Anonymous User wrote:The firm I'm summering at told us in the middle of January, and gave our start dates & pay.

My firm told us the pay scale at the callback, which was slightly lower from last year. We also got packets this month with start/end dates, co-SA information, and all that fun stuff.

OP here: I'm going to be at a V20 in a major market and I know last year the summer pay was based on 160K and the program was 11 weeks. Now it's supposed to be "market."
Can anyone who has already heard share what their firm is considering "market" and how long their program is supposed to be? Has it dropped to 145K scale or something random?
My spouse is trying to figure out his withholding for the year and it would be nice to know what my income is likely to be. It would make life far easier.

Even if ATL doesn't cover it, career link or w/e that's linked to the website w/ all the firm profiles will update with it when the info becomes available.
NYC V20, haven't heard a peep.

NYC V25: 13 Weeks (maybe 12 if I miscounted but I don't think I did) & $3,100 per week.
Also, is there any reason that we're not posting firm names? Most of these summer classes have 50+ people so it's not like we're at risk of being anonymously outed.

v25 here, 10 weeks
The paperwork says nothing about salary, as far as i can tell. It even comes with a "job application" form that has a line for "salary desired." Umm, what's going on? The rest of the packet makes clear I have a job, but what is the salary? Firm has been doing fine in the economy...
