I'm a 1L and I got an interview for a 2L associate position at a big firm in downtown Chicago through a contact. I am interviewing with one of the partners of the firm. Is there anything that I can say that can help me meet up to a more experienced 2L?
If the question comes up, "Why should I hire a 1L?", how should I answer that?
Thanks.

do you have work experience prior to entering law school? if so, you can try to play that up. significant and substantial work experience can set you apart from a lot of your peers, even 2Ls.

You may not be at a disadvantage if they want to keep their summer associate class big without having to extend a full time offer to everyone - 1Ls are the best way to do this. Anyway, they probably won't ask substantive questions, so I think if you got the interview, they're really at this point just trying to make sure you're socially personable.
