3L battling depression
I'm starting my final semester, and have no plans for after graduation. My class rank is above the percentile that my school normally sends people to big firms, but I screwed up OCI somehow and came out of it with zero offers. I'm sure some of that was my fault for not interviewing in my school's strongest market. I tried to interview in the market closest to my home town, where my school doesn't send as many people and where fewer employers bothered to send us interviewers. OCS has been basically useless, so I don't even talk to them any more.
So now here I am, trying to keep a happy smiling face for my friends and family. But really I'm trying to figure out if I went six figured into debt for nothing. I technically have resumes out, but I'm not holding much hope. The final step which I haven't taken yet is to just paper the local market with resumes. I'm not looking forward to applying to firms where I'd be paid less than if I was a retail store manager.

Is it really that much more difficult to get a job unless you get one right out of LS? Have you tried excessive exercise?

This is why you don't place all of your bets on D.C. when you're coming out of UVA.

I think you should definitely get your resume out. You have good grades. Bite the bullet, don't get paid crazy $$, get a solid legal job, profit.Anonymous User wrote:I'm starting my final semester, and have no plans for after graduation. Can you add that you go to a T10 so I can confirm my fear of turning into you in a few years?

Get whatever job you can get. All this means is that you will probably have to live at home or in a crappy apt w/a roommate and go out to dinner once a month. The important part is you are alive and have your health presumably. In 10 years or so, you will hopefully be making enough money to improve your lifestyle.

My commentary includes:
"Man up."
"Don't freak out."
"Think about how bad life is for the folks out there who are REALLY doing poorly."
"Man up."
Seriously, you'll be fine.

You would have gotten a
.
If your at HYS and messed up that badly (good grades + no job) I wouldn't feel bad for you or worry about myself because I'd think your an anomaly.
