Interviewing for an RA position?

Post by NYU2011 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 11:28 pm

I'm interviewing with a Professor next week about doing some research next semester for a book he's working on, and I'm wondering what to expect. I didn't interview for any RA positions last summer, so I have no idea. I'm assuming/hoping he doesn't expect me to be familiar with the subject matter of the book? I am interested in it, just don't know anything about it except an article he sent me.

If anyone who worked as an RA has any insight I would appreciate it!

My interview was fairly informal. The professor asked just a few basic questions like favorite class, whether I had any experience with academic writing, what interested me about the subject matter, and if I had any questions.
