Offers received from EIW: 7 (cancelled several CB, cancelled several more prior to firm decision).
Would you mind sharing where on the V100 you ended up?
- Offers spanned from V20-V80, likely going with a V30..
- Another piece of advice (for however much/little its worth), Vault is terrible. Sooner you realize that, the sooner you can begin targeting firms that correspond with your general interests/background (those firms are likely to also be more interested in you). You're more likely (assuming this is somebody's goal) to become AGC at Cerberus (or some other alt investment fund) after 3-4 years at SRZ (V79) than at Gibson Dunn (V11).
- Slightly related: I am sure there are people who bid DC only and are successful. I'm pretty sure you have to walk into your interviews with no pants on to be top 10% and not end up with at least half a dozen DC offers. That being said, NY is a bigger market, with bigger SA classes, and NY transactional practice groups continue to be bolstered by the current macro backdrop.
- Regardless, I think the worst advice i heard all year was "it doesnt matter what you do with 1L summer, as long as its legally related." Im sure working for a judge is chill if you have a 3.7, but there are people who are more targeted with their 1L summer and it helps significantly in terms of knowledge, connections, demonstrated interest, etc..
