Since partners are allowed to make hiring decisions alone, they can call students back whenever they want to without coordinating with a hiring committee, the way an associate would need to.

I was told some callbacks will take place as late as late-September to early-October. But if a firm wants to have you in, go in as early as you can to maximize your chance.Anonymous User wrote:how late is too late to schedule a callback? with my schools OCI and already having some callbacks scheduled, i can't make it to one firm until the week of Aug 26th. Or depressed that everyone else got callbacks but not me, and decided to drink the day away.

I feel like relatively few firms have sent out CB's, so don't ruin your liver just yet!kyle010723 wrote:Or depressed that everyone else got callbacks but not me, and decided to drink the day away.

Well if your phone is like mine, this website is teeny tiny and it's a damn miracle to click on the thread I want to view and get it the first time and not the thread above or below it. I'm too lazy to double-tap to zoom in. Which is probably why you never saw the 'top' button...Jsa725 wrote:LOLing cuz I just noticed it right now on my phone...Anonymous User wrote:Forever and ever.Jsa725 wrote:On a side note: how long has the "Top" button been there

Back on topic - if I get a CB at my top-choice firm, how do I make it clear that they're my top choice and would accept an offer immediately without coming off sounding desperate? Is that even possible?

Fish & Richardson CB (by email), and Sterne Kessler CB today (electronics). I was getting worried because others said they received calls from Sterne Kessler either the day of the interview, or yesterday morning. Guess you can't assume that means a ding.

Ding from Haynes & Boone today, but that's the only movement I've seen. So far 1 CB, 2 dings, and 14 left. Any past PLIP'ers able to speak to whether the majority of dings come via email or by snail mail? Just a random mix?

I'm a first time PLIP-er, but from what I understand (from talking to upperclassmen and career counselors) snail mail dings are the norm. A few firms reject by email though.Anonymous User wrote:Ding from Haynes & Boone today, but that's the only movement I've seen. So far 1 CB, 2 dings, and 14 left. This sucks. we're 650 registrants with at least one PS, given by an employer pool of around 300, many with multiple offices. All we hear from is around 8 guys snapping up all the CB's from the same number of offices. Now you tell me this shit will drag on through end of September?

Re: Loyola PLIP 2013: Brace yourselves...
It's only expected. The students with the top grades (and/or other desirable qualities like foreign language skills) are going to be the most sought after. But they can only take one out of those 8~10 (or more... sigh) offers, which is why some of us will continue to get callbacks into September and October. Keep your chin up! All you need is one.Anonymous User wrote:This sucks. we're 650 registrants with at least one PS, given by an employer pool of around 300, many with multiple offices.
