Dinged from an federal judicial internship. It stings man, it stings.

Several callbacks in December and early January. No word from any of them. Firms are probably waiting for their top choices to accept/decline, so am I safe to assume that I am effectively waitlisted at this point?

In my experience, firms tell you they will let you know something in 1-2 weeks.
I don't think following up after the 2 week mark is a bad thing.

Same. I've been waiting 3 weeks after my CB. I sent my grades in 2 weeks ago. No word since, not even a letter of rejection. Completely nervous.

As for in-house, not a word.

I may just be trying to go work in South Africa for the summer though.

Sent over 120 resumes for 1L summer jobs since December over 2 states.
Received 2 answers so far.
1. Sorry we dont hire summer assistant.
2. Sorry we hire only hard science.
And 118 silences.
I dont even want to get paid! How am I going to do when I look for a job with a salary in 2 years.

You should be getting a lot more "your resume is very impressive but unfortunately we don't hire 1Ls."

anon, dont mean to insult you but are you "following directions?" like whatever the website says about applying, is that what you're doing?or just emailing a whole bunch of hiring partners without checking directions? or, like the poster above asked, are you sending something to a generic email address?

just checking. Not trying to insult. but i would rule someone out of a job if they didnt follow directions on my website or something

1L at HYS, and I haven't heard back from anything I've applied to, even rejections. Haven't applied to as many firms or as many positions, though.

They interviewed at UT a week ago, and I haven't heard of any decisions from that, though it's easy that I just didn't get a CB/offer and am not friends with anyone who did. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but as of last week they still had openings.

They don't interview before grades in any circumstances (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so if you haven't heard from them over the break, I wouldn't sweat it. They did screeners at UT, but I'm not sure if they've interviewed students from other schools at this point.

V&E Dallas - no movement from anyone I know who interviewed with them at UT.

USAO tomorrow, top choice firm CB friday. Let's hope something works out since apparently it is possible to strike out at pursuing PI.
