I don't understand the resume paper thing generally, but particularly in this situation. They already have your resume in PDF and will likely have a copy with them on plain paper. Why must we pretend that resume paper is going anywhere but the trash at the end of the day?

because the the point of EIP is to make sure that you're willing to check various bullshit boxes to prove you're not crazy/that you take things seriously

Most firms don't actually want to know tons about you, especially at this stage. They just want to make sure you're competent and understand the game that you're playing.

I can't/won't speak for anyone else, but my firm couldn't care less whether your resume is printed on resume paper, so don't do it for us. Unless something has changed on your resume, we don't need you to give us another copy anyway. Also, we do want to know something about you (at least as much as we can learn in 20 minutes, which admittedly is limited). If you give me boring, boilerplate answers and ask me boilerplate safe questions, our interview is not going to go very well. I do agree on wearing conservative dress.

My firm (NYC biglaw) cares. I've heard it discussed re: applicants. Get the watermark right.

FWIW, it's exactly the same process for opinions, so if you can't do it now how are you going to do it as a junior?

FWIW I printed a fat stack of resumes on resume paper last year. Didn't give a single one to anyone at a law firm.

For canceling interviews at this stage, is our best bet to just send a politely worded email to the firms directly? Will OCS notice/take offense, or will the firms quietly remove us from the schedule? Its a waste of their time too if I would no longer be interested in working there.

I assumed unofficial transcripts as well. I had to order official ones for my 1L employer and it took two weeks for them to arrive. And I doubt you can just ask for 25 of them at once. We'll have to provide one official copy to the firm whose offer we wind up accepting anyway.

You can just walk into Kent and ask for them to print off a stack of 25 if you want. Doesn't take long.

PSA: The registrar's office sends you an official transcript, for free, by PDF in like 15 minutes. I'm not sure if you can print multiple copies but if not you can certainly copy the printed original.

I've never heard of this. The firms like Skadden and Cravath that have the big batches of Saturday callbacks set them up for after EIP.

Get an official transcript. Seriously. Takes 10 minutes and every time I get an unofficial one I think a tiny bit less of that candidate.

Now that journals have been added in, my transcript runs over to two pages. Do you all think it's necessary to have a transcript with the journal listed? (It's already on my resume of course). I know this is a silly/minor thing, but I feel like it would be easier to just hand an interviewer one printed page.

Update: Like an idiot, I had my printer set to landscape. In portrait it's all fine. Sorry.

Confirmation that unofficial transcript is fine. They handed out a pretty helpful sheet of logistical info, maybe it's online? Lunch will be provided every day between 12 and 2. Breakfast sponsored by the firms. Thank you notes not necessary after screeners. Petal wore a snakeskin blazer. I think that's all.

One thing that was repeatedly mentioned is that assume you're *always* on an interview (i.e. hospitality suites, lounges, elevators, etc.), so I would still wear a suit, except since I assume most people would take their blazer off while eating/relaxing so you can probably get away with something slightly more casual if you're not planning on going to any hospitality suites while you're there.
