BTW: When I started as an SA I was advised by a partner that the firm didn’t fire anyone, but some people end up firing themselves. I took it to heart and noted that sentiment earlier ITT and apparently it came across to some as thoughtless.
So... like... you know that like... some firms are... like.... totally not the same as other firms?
And this...

There were 2 at my firm last year.
If you know, why?

You realize that this partner is just telling you the party line. I'm sure every partner at every firm that no offers people explains their decision in the same way. That way they don't have to blame themselves or the firm or take responsibility.

I guess my firm typically let's you know your last day. My last day is next Friday so this is going to be a week full of fear and anxiety.

Didn't you hear? He got a Band 3 rating on Chambers. The first ever rating given to a summer associate.

Economic reasons. They over-enrolled the class and had to make cuts. I'm assuming they picked the people with the worst performance reviews to cut.
Also, every single person in the firm told us the same thing you were told. They all told us stories about how everyone gets an offer, the ridiculous drunken things you could do and still get an offer, "when you come back...," etc. They didn't announce offers until a few weeks after our SAs ended. We were all shocked to hear about the no offers.

Having friends that didn’t get a shot at an SA is probably par with those who were no¬offered. The next phase in our law school journey are the bar results. The hits just keep on coming.

If the coherence of your posts is any indication of the quality of your work product, and if you received an offer at the end of your summer, then I can believe that your firm has a 100% offer rate.

I have no way to verify this but Dafaq reminds me of Renee Walker. Maybe not the same person but just as stupid.

How much does having most of your work come from one partner hurt your chances of an offer?
Firm emphasizes working with many attorneys. I have worked with several attorneys, but this one partner has given me probably 70% of my work. I can't turn the work down (she is on exec committee, been there for many years, etc). The good news is she has told recruiting I have done well and she is in a department I want to work for. Bad news is that dept may not be hiring a new associate and I haven't thoroughly explored other areas.

I think having a partner on the exec committee pulling for you while you get 30% of your work from "several attorneys" is more than fine.

Your options may depend on where you are. What market?

You rated both BD and Dafuq too low.
I'm also super interested in how BD got outed and had to delete, too bad we will never know.

Nope, actually rehired myself for that position, and it's going ok. Fired myself from anything resembling a romantic relationship for a while, though.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
