Pretty sure offers for the Big 3 don't go out until early/mid August. One of the 3 where I SAed said they won't send out offers (for rising 3Ls) until after first week of August (and to disregard everything else as baseless rumor). I'm guessing the others are about the same.

Rising 2Ls might get theirs a little earlier though...
I wrote this and I can confirm that I was wrong (about the other two firms).
Still on course for first week of August at the one left though right? I'm assuming we were in the same class since I haven't heard from my Big 3 Houston first half yet.

Yep. Still on for first week of August. I'm not too worried. Only two no-offers last year.

Last year my Texas firm gave us our confirmation early. However I do not know anyone EVER who was no offered. Think about it, do you know anyone who screwed up so bad that they were no offered?

(To me no-offered is essentially saying you figured out a way to fire yourself.)

So how do you know if your work product is any good? If you slack off most of the day, but never miss a deadline, and get only "this is very helpful", "you're a good writer" or no response, you good? Is this a no news is good news kind of thing?

The best way to know is by if you get more work from the people you turned assignments in to. Repeat business is the only compliment that matters to me. I don't put stock in what people say, because unless your stuff is aggressively bad, everyone is gonna tell you that it was good.

Eh, no reason to humblebrag through anon so I'd say not. Also, I don't get much more substantive comments than those, so you should be fine anon (assuming you're at a place with >95% offer rate)

I know a fair number of SAs. What I said was that I did not know of anyone who was no-offered. I asked if anyone personally knew of someone who was no-offered. If so, why the no-offer?

I truly doubt that firms bring on 10 SAs with the idea of only hiring 9. Maybe I am wrong, but I certainly haven’t personally seen it happen.

There are a number of people on this forum who have been no-offered and suggesting that they got no-offered because they screwed up and "fired themselves" when you know nothing about their circumstances is insulting.

I guess you're completely oblivious of the number of firms that didn't disclose their financial troubles unless it's too late (Kasowitz, Winston, etc.). Shitty thing is that they withheld info because they didn't want to forewarn pple that they gave offers to. .
You really need a reality check and a lesson in sensitivity.

What I am sensitive to are the ones who never were given a chance to be an SA. Ditto those SAs blindsided by a firm suddenly proclaiming a financial dilemma. My unanswered question still remains, do you personally know of anyone no-offered? I don’t.

I have already pointed out that there have been a number of no-offered people ON THIS FORUM, but you seem determined to ignore that.

Damn. How hard is this question? Do you 1 personally know anyone that has been no-offered?

1. through direct contact; in person; directly: I will thank him personally.

Do you think people on the internet are somehow not real? I know their usernames; I know where they went to school; I know what they're doing now. Does that not count for some reason?

If you know, why?

BTW: When I started as an SA I was advised by a partner that the firm didn’t fire anyone, but some people end up firing themselves. I took it to heart and noted that sentiment earlier ITT and apparently it came across to some as thoughtless.

You realize that this partner is just telling you the party line. I'm sure every partner at every firm that no offers people explains their decision in the same way. That way they don't have to blame themselves or the firm or take responsibility.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
