Some firms are going to OCI (not sure which ones), but almost all of the SA positions will be filled by diverse candidates, who would have interviewed at the Diversity Clerkship Program. I highly doubt any offers will go out to OCI; they're probably going to either direct apply people (with connections) or DCP people.
Also waiting on a CB at Polsinelli actually, but the stuff I sent them had a typo so it's probably not gonna happen. Well actually my typo went to all the STL firms, so I wouldn't be surprised if I get no offers despite 5-6 CBs (friend at Polsinelli told me they spotted the typo lololol).
It depends on the firm too; Polsinelli is doing 3-4 CBs for 1 spot. Husch Blackwell is probably doing way, way more CBs for 2 spots.
Frankly, the firms are all more or less fungible. Polsinelli has no face-time requirement, which might be a substantive difference (dunno about other firms).
No news from Husch. Given the sorry state of my diversity statement/writing sample, and no STL ties, I'm crossing my fingers for the LCLD stuff.
I think they're fungible, but the culture at all the firms are substantially different in my experience.
I have ties to STL and connections at all the firms. But I know at best that gets me in the door, not necessarily an offer. My main problem is my one offer is expiring in a week and all of the other firms are dragging their feet. But they all know I have another offer on the table. I feel like TC went really well, but who knows. The recruiter hasn't emailed me since interview early this week. Bad sign? Doesn't mean anything?

I would just wait till the last day, and accept the Lathrop & Gage offer if you don't have a preferred one on the table. It would certainly be foolish to pass it up, banking on getting an offer elsewhere. Ties + good grades + firm connections + decent interview + diversity is as good a position as you can be in, but nothing is guaranteed, and each thing you're missing detracts that much from your odds (add in typos

). You can't predict this shit.
Also, my L&G callback is on the 16th, so maybe I'll be doing a callback for a position that's already been filled. el oh el

Any word on L&G KC?

I know they are doing spring OCI this week at several places. But their KC office really likes to hire 1Ls.

How long from an interview to a decision? There are positions I've interviewed over 2 weeks ago and nada.
Is it customary to send follow-ups to reiterate interest?

Intuitively, it just seems like the firm wants to interview more people before they make a decision.
Anybody know if the nalp form's "expected 2015" spots are for the summer of 2015?

has anyone heard back from Kirkland?
more generally though, what does it mean when you've applied to a firm and have yet to hear back? the firms I got CB to were pretty quick in reaching out after I sent in my application, so does a long wait normally mean a ding is impending?

disclaimer: 1L
From two of the CBs I've had, the firms got back to me within a week or two of sending in my app materials. The third one I have, I didn't even get a confirmation of my app and didn't get a screener request until about 5-6 weeks after submission.
So the shitty answer is that it depends. That being said, from the firms where I submitted over a month ago, I have substantially more dings than screeners - it's like 6-1. Every firm seems to be a little different with how they handle apps.

Generally, would a 1L internship with a big city DA office or a USAO be better experience for big law?

Is it weird that I generally just haven't gotten much response at all? Like 2 dings, one callback and basically nothing else.

Has anyone had success contacting attorneys in the area that went to the same undergraduate institution or is that too much of a stretch for trying to network?

Just finished interview with K&E Chicago Pro Bono Fellowship
Curious about K&L and Stoel timelines. When were the CBs and screeners, if any?
As for me: dinged from Perkins and Cooley, waiting on K&L, DWT, Stoel, Dorsey, and Hillis Clark (all SEA).

Had my CB with Stoel on Feb. 3rd. My Stoel screener was Jan. 21.
For what it's worth: Dinged from K&L and Cooley. Had CB interviews at Stoel and Perkins, waiting to hear back. No word from DWT, Dorsey, Foster Pepper.

Any new news about Texas firms in general? I know that there have been quite a few people on here asking about Dallas, Austin, and Houston.

Good to hear! I'm in school out of state, so I interviewed with them over break and they said that they were waiting to decide on things their OCIs were finished. I just wanted to make sure that I hadn't gotten silently dinged yet. Do you know anything about Shook KC?
